In just 10 years, MS Sports has become the leading Swiss provider of sports camps for children and teenagers. The company’s continuously expanding and diversifying offerings, combined with rapidly growing participant numbers, presented the small MS Sports team with significant administrative and logistical challenges. The IT tools used at the outset—a simple website and Office programs—could not keep pace with the company’s dynamic growth. The Rickenbach, Lucerne-based company therefore opted for daylight AG’s daylight school, course, and event management solution.



With daylight, MS Sports can centrally plan and publish its sports camp offerings online, handle all billing, provide up-to-date information necessary for camp operations, and systematically follow up with customers. Thanks to the powerful and flexibly customizable core application daylight, MS Sports can continue to grow with its existing team and free up personnel resources for further expansion of its camp offerings.

Sports camps that inspire children and teens


The success story of MS Sports began with the idea of giving children the opportunity to train on the soccer field every day during summer vacation without having to stay overnight away from home. That’s why Mario Sager, a former professional soccer player for FC Luzern, launched the first MS Sports soccer camp.


In addition to soccer, MS Sports now offers day and overnight camps for numerous sports, including soccer, tennis, horseback riding, track and field, basketball, badminton, floorball, dance, and biking. While there were just 150 participating children when the program launched in 2007, today nearly 20,000 children and teens attend the 420 MS Sports camps each year.

Rapid Growth Required Professionalization

Founder and CEO Mario Sager describes the initial situation as follows: “Our idea of providing children and teenagers with great group sports experiences—with professional supervision and at fair prices—was a huge hit. With participant numbers growing rapidly, we were soon faced with the challenge of professionalizing our online presence and our entire administrative processes.”


In its early years, MS Sports had a simple website where interested parties could register. Registration information was automatically generated in Excel spreadsheets, but the manual effort required of the small team was enormous. Company founder Sager adds: "There were different files for each camp, with duplicates. Billing and invoice verification were very time-consuming due to the lack of integration with financial accounting. We lacked a central database and the integration of individual functions into a comprehensive solution."

Perfectly tailored to your workflows

After extensive discussions and a demonstration, Mario Sager chose daylight from daylight AG. “The chemistry was right. The team clearly explained which tasks could be handled out of the box and where additional functional modules were needed.” The software was deployed as a service on daylight AG’s high-performance servers and optimally adapted to MS Sports’ workflows.


A design agency was also brought on board to design the MS Sports website, which provides information about offerings, showcases sponsors and the company, and offers customized online registration and order forms for 420 camps.

Due to long registration periods and a large number of simultaneous registrations, high loads occurred.

Customers can also order T-shirts and jackets in appropriate sizes when registering their children.

The ordering and payment functionalities were additionally developed and implemented by daylight AG.

The introduction of daylight offered MS Sports the opportunity to question and optimize internal processes.

Data stored centrally and accessible via interfaces

MS Sports currently manages 420 camps with 19,714 participants in daylight. The daylight central database stores approximately 150,000 customer addresses, which are regularly used for target-group-specific marketing activities. Via an integrated interface, the addresses can be imported directly into MailChimp for email campaigns.


The consolidation and integration of all necessary functions for planning, publication, registration, billing, execution, and follow-up into a powerful platform, along with the elimination of media breaks, lead to significantly more efficient processes.


Mario Sager explains: “A key advantage is the seamless interface with financial accounting. Invoices are automatically generated by daylight and sent via email, and we always have an up-to-date overview of all accounts receivable. Since we operate nationwide, daylight’s consistent multilingual support is also a major plus.”

Currently, 18 people in the administration department at MS Sports regularly use daylight, and numerous project managers also have a login. According to Mario Sager, the solution runs very smoothly.
